Landslides in PA Seminars: The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) is partnering with the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Office of Administration (OA)/Geoboard, US Geological Survey (USGS) and Penn State University subject matter experts to present two seminars on landslides through Cooperative Technical Partnership (CTP) funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Webinar #1, February 25, 2026 10:00-11:30 AM ET
PEMA and partners will host a 90-minute training (part 1 of a 2-part series) for localities (planners, hazard mitigation staff, floodplain managers, etc.), insurance representatives, and other state agencies to understand landslides/mudslides, specific landslide/mudslide risk in PA, and tools and datasets for evaluating risks and vulnerabilities.

Webinar #2, March 13, 2026 10:00-11:30 AM ET PEMA and partners will host a 90-minute training (part 2 of a 2-part series) for localities (planners, hazard mitigation staff, floodplain managers, etc.), insurance representatives, and other state agencies to understand landslides/mudslides. The webinar will also highlight specific landslide/mudslide risk in PA, ways to mitigate landslide/mudslide risk, and case studies of communities and partners in PA who have reduced risks from landslides/mudslides.

Pennsylvania GIS Conference 2026
The PA GIS Conference will be held April 15-17 2026 at the Penn Stater on the Penn State campus. The deadline for presentation proposals is January 11th, 2026. The deadline for poster and map submissions is March 31, 2026.
