- Landslides in PA Seminars: The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) is partnering with the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Office of Administration (OA)/Geoboard, US Geological Survey (USGS) and Penn State University subject matter experts to present two seminars on landslides through Cooperative Technical Partnership (CTP) funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

PEMA and partners will host a 90-minute training (part 1 of a 2-part series) for localities (planners, hazard mitigation staff, floodplain managers, etc.), insurance representatives, and other state agencies to understand landslides/mudslides, specific landslide/mudslide risk in PA, and tools and datasets for evaluating risks and vulnerabilities.

PEMA and partners will host a 90-minute training (part 2 of a 2-part series) for localities (planners, hazard mitigation staff, floodplain managers, etc.), insurance representatives, and other state agencies to understand landslides/mudslides. The webinar will also highlight specific landslide/mudslide risk in PA, ways to mitigate landslide/mudslide risk, and case studies of communities and partners in PA who have reduced risks from landslides/mudslides.

- Pennsylvania GIS Conference 2026
The PA GIS Conference will be held April 15-17 2026 at the Penn Stater on the Penn State campus. The deadline for presentation proposals is January 11th, 2026. The deadline for poster and map submissions is March 31, 2026.
