ABSTRACT
This feature class/shapefile is for the Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Database (HIFLD) https://gii.dhs.gov/HIFLD as well as the Energy modelling and simulation community. This feature class/shapefile represents Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Regions. FERC is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas, and oil. The vector polygons in this layer represent the regions that are served by FERC Regional Offices. There are no changes to geometry or attribution in this layer since the previous version.
