Abstract:

“Pennsylvania’s Best Fishing Waters” program identifies proven waters for specific species.  This listing includes suggestions for distinct species within PA Streams.

Purpose:

Mapping and promotion of the various water bodies in Pennsylvania that are known to have good fishing opportunities.

Supplemental_Information:

This layer was created by selecting the appropriate flowing waters and water bodies from existing PFBC GIS Layers, all of which were derived from the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) layers.  Points were created by calculating the geographic centers of the water bodies and the mid-points of the flowing waters.

Description field removed in Shapefile..... Field contains unusable characters in
shapefiles. Geodatabase zipped in with ftp download.

None provided credit is given to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) as long as the data is in its original unaltered state.  If modifications are made to the data set, users are obligated to describe the types of modifications they have made.  Users are not to misrepresent PFBC data sets, nor to imply that changes they (users) have made were approved by the PFBC.
