Abstract:
The Stratified land-use/land-cover layer displays vegetative cover in rural areas and distinguishes portions of urban and suburban areas still containing and retaining some potential as habitat. This was created by mathematically combining the Urbanized land with the Vegetative land cover.
Purpose:
Part of the Pennsylvania Gap Analysis progression, this dataset was designed to facilitate the interpretation of Pennsylvania's surface vegetation and habitat models for vertebrate species in the Commonwealth.

Analysis for areas obscured in original satellite imagery and other areas selected at random or because of problem in satellite analysis were verified through aerial videography or physical inspection.
