Overview: Input data used in the analysis: National Wetland Inventory (2014, 1:24,000), US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Wetlands Inventory (FWS/NWI). Two derived Land Use/Land Cover datasets (2011, 30-meter resolution), Multi-resolution LandCover Consortium, National Land Cover Database.TIGER/Lines Shapefiles (2009, United States Census Bureau)Attributes: The layer's attribute table has the following items:NWI original attributesPANWI_ID: Unique ID assigned to each wetland centroidBuffer_Distance: 1000m (1km) radius circle from the centroid of each wetland polygon(1) LU/LC Classes (m2, %): Water, Developed open space, Developed low intensity, Developed medium intensity, Developed high intensity, Barren rock/clay/sand, Forest, Shrub/scrub, Pasture/hay, Cultivated crops, and Wetlands, Total area.(2) LU/LC Classes (m2, %)*: Water, Not forest, Core forest, Edge forest, Total areaLandscape Development Intensity Index (LDI)Road Length (m) per Code and Total, Road Density (km/km2)* Slight differences in total number of pixels per class when comparing to (1) LU/LC classes due to data manipulation.
The purpose of this dataset is to characterize all mapped wetlands from the NWI (2014) of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through a Level 1 Landscape Analysis. Wetland sites are defined as 1-km radius circles around the center point of each wetland polygon. The following indicators are quantified at each wetland site: Area (m2) and percentage (%) of each land use class, landscape development intensity (LDI) index, road density (km/km2), and percentage of impervious surface.
