Abstract:

Polyline shapefile representing streams in the Susquehanna River Basin that have a fish consumption advisory listing due to PCBs and/or mercury.  These are advisories for eating sport fish.  The New York State Department of Health (NYSDoH), the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) issue these advisories on a yearly basis.

Purpose:

Dataset developed to fit the needs of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission and is intended for educational display purposes only.

fish consumption.xls was used to select the appropriate stream reaches from the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD).  The EventMaker tool was used to create the correct stream reaches from the NHD   The resulting feature class was exported into a new shapefile called fish_cnsmp.shp.  All fields from fish consumption.xls were added to the attribute table.
